While many of us Witcher fans are still reeling over the news that Henry Cavill will no longer be playing Geralt of Rivia after season 3 of Netflix’s The Witcher series, CD Projekt Red has finally decided to grace us with a release date for the upcoming next-gen patch for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt!

Mark your calender and make sure your SSD has some space because this FREE update will be here on December 14th!

How exactly have they used the increased power of current-gen consoles to make The Witcher III even more beautiful? We will have to see during a special REDstream next week, Brah, but they did give us a taste of what’s to come:

Enhanced with the power of next-gen consoles and modern PC hardware in mind, the upcoming release of CD PROJEKT RED’s award-winning role-playing game will feature dozens of visual, performance, and technical enhancements over the original. These include ray tracing support, faster loading times on consoles, as well as a variety of mods integrated into the experience, among many others. Along with new additional content inspired by The Witcher series from Netflix, these will be covered next week in a dedicated REDstreams event on Twitch, where the studio will present gameplay from the next-gen version of the game.

It’s great to see CD Project Red keeping their word as they originally announced this update over two years ago before the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles even released.

Will you return to the what many claiming to the best game from last-gen?
