Rumors hit early this year that The Last of Us Remake and The Last of Us Part II Factions could possibly coincide with the launch of HBO’s The Last of Us in late 2022.
Today’s news courtesy of Deadline certainly brings doubt to these rumors. HBO/HBO Max Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys told the site that the series won’t be arriving until 2023 due to the fact that it’s still being filmed.
It’s not going to air in 2022 — they are still shooting in Canada. I imagine you will see it in ’23.
IF the releases of the two The Last of Us projects could coincide with the release of the series, this would definitely give the teams at Naughty Dog more time to aim for the level of perfection that the team is always wanting to achieve.
