You know how the drill works with licensed material in video games. Once that contract is up between the two respective companies come to an end, bye-bye game!

While you can still download games like Forza Horizon 3 and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 if it’s a part of your digital library, you can no longer buy them digital as a result of the licensing deal due to the cars, characters, music, etc.

Maximilian Dood is a YouTuber who specializes is in the fighting game genre because he knows his shit. He started an online campaign earlier this week regarding Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes due to the fact that one of the best fighting games ever released can’t be purchased online from digital storefronts and you haven’t been able to for years now.

Sure, you can go buy a copy online through eBay but no matter which version you have your eye on, it’ll cost you $100 or much more to do so. That is why Sir Maximilian started this campaign that we fully support!

In just a few short days two major devs at Digital Eclipse, the team behind the PS3/Xbox 360 ports, spoke up on Twitter saying they’re willing and ready to make it happen!

Mike Mika, the Studio Head at Digital Eclipse showed his support.

As did Stephen Frost, an Executive Producer at Digital Eclipse.

Unfortunately things didn’t go so well between Capcom and Marvel with Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite with some nasty rumors from both sides of the equation.

There is still hope though! If Marvel Games, Capcom, and everyone that’s involved can see the demand is there along with the finicial jackpot waiting for them, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 could escape its ‘digital jail’!

As a huge fan of both companies, I full support the #FreeMVC2′ campaign and hope you’ll share Max’s tweet above, Brah!
