Battlefield 2042 took the gamingsphere by storm last month after EA and DICE finally revealed what their up to 128 players (64 players last-gen) battle for online supremacy is all about.

Today DICE revealed some much requested information relating to the game, confirming Battlefield 2042 will feature cross-play between the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. PS4 and Xbox One will have their own cross-play party due to the differences between the last-gen and current-gen versions. DICE said this about the situation:

On Xbox One and PlayStation 4 you will have access to the same gameplay features that we’ve announced for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Weapons, Vehicles, Specialists and Gadgets all remain the same no matter what generation of console you’re playing on. Dynamic Weather events such as tornadoes, or Environmental Hazards like EMP storms will also be experienced by all players. The main differences between console generations is that we’ve made adjustments to the playable area on the maps to ensure a fluid play experience for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.

More good news as DICE confirmed that Cross-progression and cross-commerce will work between all consoles and console generations, unlike the cross-play feature which separates the PS4/PS5 and XB1/XBS players.

There is much, much more information that might answer some of your burning questions related to Battlefield 2042 here.
