The Communities feature on the PS4 has always been a fun way to connect with other Gamers of similar interest to share content, stories, and upcoming events on the console.
Unfortunately, when we reported that the beta test for the latest PS4 firmware update started to be sent out, one of the major changes looked to be the removal of the Communities feature.
Sony had yet to make it ‘official’ to the rest of the PlayStation Nation. Until now. If you’re a part of any community on the PS4, you should receive an official email from Sony stating the following:
Thank you for using the Communities feature on your PlayStation®4 console. Beginning in April 2021, this feature will no longer be supported or available on your PS4™ console.
However, you will still be able to stay connected and enjoy messaging features and more on your PS4™ console and PlayStation®App.
When the Communities away ceased to exist last year, I think we all knew something was up. Hell, we’re not even entirely sure why Sony has chosen to remove the fan-favorite feature from the PS4. If any additional information is revealed we will be sure to let you know.
