The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal will take the lead reins in HBO’s The Last of Us.
Coming off the heels of an earlier announcement, HBO has dropped one more crumb to keep us fed. Because of that announcement, I don’t think many of us were anticipating, Joel’s casting so soon. Yet, here we are.
HBO’s The Last of Us Has Found Joel
According to, Deadline.com, Pedro Pascal will star as Joel in HBO’s, The Last of Us adaptation. Based off of the critically acclaimed 2013 game developed by Naughty Dog on the PlayStation 3 and later remastered on the PlayStation 4.

Earlier today, we learned Bella Ramsey will take on the role of the iconic, Ellie from, The Last of Us. Together, these two must trek across a harsh and unforgiving, post apocalyptic America to deliver humanity’s last hope for survival.
Pascal has certainly blown up in recent years. With roles such as, Oberyn Martell from Game of Thrones. As well as his most notable as the star lead in, The Mandalorian.
Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin will write and executive produce the series. Alongside, Carolyn Strauss from Game of Thrones and Chernobyl fame. Evan Wells, President of Naughty Dog, along with Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions, also executive produces.
We know recently, Kantemir Balagov has been penned to direct the pilot of The Last of Us. In total, we have a huge collaboration with Sony Pictures Television PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint and Naughty Dog assisting.
Honestly, this sounds exciting. With both Bella and Pedro on board, this has the making of a dynamic pairing. Both are phenomenal actors and it’ll be exciting to see them matched together butting heads and eventually coming to love one another.
Let us know how you feel about these two choices in the comments below!
