Square Enix has graced us with a glimpse into the latest Final Fantasy 14 expansion, Endwalker. And, good lord does it look like a hell of a way to end an arc. The expansion will release on PS4 in Fall 2021.

Thankfully, there’s a few tidbits that we can gleam from Square Enix’s new showing. Some details, aside from Alphinaud, include a look at a two new jobs. Those, consisting of a new healer and a new melee DPS, with the latter getting a reveal at a later date. We also know that the healer class controls ether imbued into weapons and is referred to as a Sage.

Some other bits of information we know, pertains directly to how the coronavirus impacted development. Specifically, how development had slowed down, so much so that they needed to delay the expansion from its initial release. Nevertheless, it seems Creative Business Unit III has course corrected and is full steam ahead for a fall launch.

The team also reveals, that Endwalker will conclude the current story in Final Fantasy 14. But, this doesn’t necessarily mean the end for Final Fantasy 14. Quite the opposite in fact, as a new story will begin.
