Wait…what month is it again? It is hard to believe that we are already heading into September but here we are…once again. September is loaded with games and it doesn’t matter what platform you play on there is something for everyone. That means some of us will be a little light in the wallet and if you are an Indie fan well…buckle up!
Blasphemous

This game is actually releasing! I remember finding this one on Kickstarter and thinking about what in the world I just witnessed on my screen. The action-platformer is fast, intense, and narrative to the core. Play as ‘The Penitent One’ as you battle to free the world. You will fight horrendous beasts in the land of Cvstodia, a place where religion reigns supreme. Explore a twisted world and try to survive some of the most epic looking boss battles I have ever seen.

We can talk about this RPG all day long. No seriously. Get ready for the 17th century on an island called Teer Fradee. There rests a place free of the Malichor Plague and the dwindling hope to save mankind. Search for the cure while also making alliances and forging your own path through the game. GreedFall is about making difficult decisions that will impact what happens to your story. With situational combat the title promises to bring something fresh to the genre with the addition of factions and their ever growing need to adapt to the geopolitical landscape.

This is a beautiful title of thought provoking first-person puzzles that use parallel worlds of light and darkness. In this world you will need to see through the darkness in order to uncover the hidden truth. With challenging and unique puzzles The Sojourn promises to put the best puzzle solver to the test. The gorgeous environments are enough on their own to entice most that enjoy puzzle games.

Niffelheim

I am a sucker for anything Vikings and dealing with Norse mythology so Niffelheim certainly caught my eye right away. Released in early access on Steam the title puts you in the role as a brave warrior who has fallen in battle. Of course instead of going off to Asgard the warrior’s soul is tapped in Niffelheim. Fight in a hostile world, ransack lands, explore dangerous dungeons and hopefully you will find your way to Valhalla.

I mean if we are going to have one game released with Norse mythology we might as well have two games releasing next month. Play as brave Vikings that have discovered a new land filled with mystery, danger and riches. Explore and conquer as you bring fame to the clan. With new lands come the unknown and there roaming will be wolves and undead warriors. Defeat all your enemies and survive the winters in order to claim Northgard as your own. I love the look of this game and building settlements along with managing your Vikings sounds like nothing but a great time!

And there you have it! All these glorious Indie games are releasing next month and I have no idea how we could possibly play them all. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t give it our best shot.
